A little background.
I attend a local community college and had a class today like any other day. The parking lot in which I park at is located next to the campus baseball field and there are multiple signs posted that state "Warning: Stray baseballs may strike vehicles. Park at own risk". The baseball team is pretty good with it though and I haven't heard of an incident where it has been a problem. Coincidentally, the parking lot is located only about 50 feet from my class.
Earlier today I was waiting outside for my class to begin like any other day when I saw a little overcast above me. I instantly knew what it was. Out of caution I looked around me to see if anybody was close so as to warn them. There was a group of people about 7-10 feet away from me and it seemed as if the ball was going to strike there. By the time I knew it some people were screaming and telling us to watch out. I then pushed a girl next to me into the bushes and the ball barely missed her.
She got up and started bitching at me. I told her the situation and said I pushed her out of instinct. She then went on to say that she didn't believe me. I reassured her but she stated that "Why didn't you just take the hit for me then?" Yeah fucking right girl! After minutes of trying to convince this girl that I pushed her out of the way to protect her she straight out called me a liar, said she was going to press assault charges, and headed to campus police.
Campus police shows up and start questioning me about the situation. I had about 10-20 witnesses there and they said they would testify on my behalf that what I did was in indeed a Good Samaritan act. Campus police said that her "friends" stated that what I did was out of malicious intent (WTF!!). Campus police said they know that the whole situation is being blown out of proportion and they believe me... HOWEVER, they said she was going to put in a report to the county police and that I might have some future trouble on my hands. FML!
