I just moved into a apartment complex a couple weeks ago. It was recently built, and it's been pretty good noise wise. I haven't heard anyone else.
Last night I was playing Smite and having fun on TeamSpeak. I was talking at just an average volume, but I'm sure they may have been a few triumphant moments where it wasn't so average.
This morning I woke up to a bright orange sticky note on my door saying that it's the second time that one of my neighbors have stopped down knocking, but of course I didn't hear them with my headphones in.
I feel like a giant douche. I had no idea I was being loud, and now am terrified to play games at night for fear of keeping them out. I know how bad that sucks, and wouldn't wish it on anyone.
I definitely can't get over that it's the second time. That makes everything so much worse.
On the note they didn't leave their apartment number or phone number or even a name. If I had it, I would gladly go to their door, own up and apologize. I'm moderately sure it was the people directly above me, but I'm not sure.
Is there anything I should do? I don't really want to leave a note on their door and embarrass them. But I definitely want them to know that I apologize and that it won't happen again. I feel incredibly bad. It looked like a girl's handwriting... so what would be something I could do to help calm the water? I don't want people around me to hate me especially right off the bat!
