So I had a track meet today and I had done poorly in my field event (discus for you curious people), so I went to hang out around the long jump pit. My coach was over there administrating the boys' long jump. He's pretty laid back and you can have a good conversation with him.
All was hunky dory. I was telling jokes and my mood was getting perked up when other people laughed. It was contagious apparently because I was laughing at a stupid joke, paused for breath, and heard my coach yell out the measurement for the little kid that just jumped: "9' 11"!."
I. Was. Dying. It was a terrible jump and a terrible day so it just blended right?
I got many complaints later saying:
"That kid must've thought you were laughing at him!"
"How can you laugh at something like that?!"
"Dude-that was uncool." (That was the black kid btw).
So. TIFU but I get bonus points. I actually did it today.
*EDIT: The spacing bugged me.
