TIFU by thinking an April Fools Prank was an April Fools Prank but it wasn't

I'm going to keep this short unlike how long I was embarassed

I was talking to the guy I've been dating for about 2 months today and he just randomly says "my mum died when I was 14." I instantly think it's an April Fools prank and start having a go at him, because hey that's a dickhead prank to pull, and I was really mad he would find that funny or acceptable

I was wrong.

His mum did die when he was 14... He was trying to open up to me and I shouted at him for being insensitive and pranking me... I wouldn't be surprised if he ends things
